Privacy and Security Policy
Ratio is made available by MacDonald Thoughtstuff Inc. (MTI). MTI is a privately held federal corporation, based in British Columbia and subject to Canadian law.
MTI greatly values user privacy and strives to ensure that Ratio has world-class security and privacy.
Ratio is available as a free service and MTI does not make any money from it. Premium or business versions of Ratio may be available in the future for a subscription fee.
Ratio runs on virtual servers provided by Digital Ocean, physically located in their Toronto Data Centre. An offline version that does not store any data in the cloud may also be available in the future - let us know if you are interested.
Ratio always uses TLS/HTTPS to encrypt all data between the Ratio servers and your web browser, and all traffic on the Digital Ocean internal network is also encrypted.
Ratio does not ask for nor store your online banking credentials and it cannot directly read or access your bank accounts in any way. The only way to get data from your bank account into Ratio is for you to export the data from your online banking service and import the data into Ratio.
MTI does not share Ratio user data with third parties unless legally required to do so by a court order.
Ratio requires a valid email address, but does not require your full name or any other identifying information.
For best security, use a unique and complex password for Ratio. Ratio user passwords are stored using industry best practices (securely hashed).
If you ever use Ratio on a computer other than your own private computer/phone, always log out and clear the browser’s cache when you are done.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
